As a youth I was able to view the Child protective services based on family members being placed in foster care, and family. I witnessed the lack of help my Mom and Grandmother received from Children services, while housing cousins that were previously placed in foster care, then by request of my Mother and Grandmother of wanting to keep family together, and also wanting to make sure my cousins were kept in the family, I watched how they struggled with no financial assistance to provide for not only their children, but the added family placed from children services. I also experienced kinship care for my sister's children that were placed in my home temporarily. I've served in many ways by working as President, and board member of multiple non-profit organizations that helped the youth. I've worked as a child advocate at my church, and continue to do work in the community.
